IWC built the movement of this watch in 1964 at the same they were building their famous Ingenieur line and with equipped it with the same movement. These dress watches are more elegant than the pragmatic Ingenieur but share similar high-performance timekeeping qualities in normal wearing conditions. And compared to an Ingenieur, because they do not have a second inner back, the cases are thinner and lighter on the wrist.
It is on the large size of full size for the era and style. At 36mm in diameter, it is the same size as a Rolex Datejust.
It is in pleasing all-original condition down to the dial, hands, and signed winding crown. Its untouched original dial is just short of mint. Its case presents very nicely on the wrist. It has one indention in the back not visible when it's being worn. And its movement is running true.
One of our watchmakers has just fully disassembled the movement down to its last screw and freshly cleaned and oiled it and installed a new crystal.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
